Tickets, 1741-1916.

Tickets are for transportation fares or for admission to a variety of events. Transportation tickets include stagecoach, railroad, and steamship fares. Other tickets are for admission to dances and balls, concerts, theater performances, picture galleries, a zoo, singing class, a clam bake and other dinners, the New York Stock Exchange, the 1893 presidential inauguration, expositions and world's fairs, the opening ceremonies of the Brooklyn Bridge, the presentation of military colors, college commencement exercises, and college matriculation and lecture tickets. Some tickets are to events at London's Guildhall. As well, the collection includes a few lottery tickets. Many of the tickets include pictures, but some have only text.
